The U.S. Department of Energy Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) Bioprocessing Separations Consortium is pleased to announce that registration is now open for Bioprocessing Separations Consortium Listening Day, scheduled for July 8, 2021 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. CT.
The Bioprocessing Separations Consortium aims to identify and overcome separations challenges associated with the conversion of biomass into fuels and chemicals in support of BETO’s mission to develop sustainable bioenergy technologies.
This free, virtual workshop aims to explore technical opportunities, identify knowledge gaps, and prioritize separations challenges related to bioprocessing separations. We invite stakeholders from industry, academia, and National Laboratories to provide their expertise, insights, and vision for separations technologies in the bioprocessing sector.
We will discuss the current state of science in bioprocessing separations and highlight research and development needs for the community to address. This workshop will include breakout sessions for stakeholders to provide input on the following topic areas:
- Exploration of separation challenges and opportunities associated with bioprocessing streams, including new biomass feedstocks and emerging bioproducts
- Identification of gaps in current knowledge, research, and technical capabilities that are limiting separations process development, scale-up, and commercialization
- Definition of next steps to make separations research and development at the National Laboratories most relevant to industry
